It is about that time I stop freeloading off Inez and Vanessa and start freeloading at the hotel again. I hear it's done up nicer than it was before? That's exciting but unnecessary. I think I'll load the car back up and head back over this afternoon or the next.
I was able to salvage the one important book from the rubble before the reconstruction, even if it suffered some damage. I think it adds character.

Doesn't sound like anyone was going to come out of this situation feeling vindicated. On one hand, you've got a real piece of work who cuts up mutants for research or whatever the hell it is (I'm not exactly sure, but that seems to be the general consensus). On the other, you got a lot of mutants who want to cut up (or burn or generally kill) that guy out of revenge. In the middle, you got the regular people, the law enforcement, the civilians, that want to find out what happened because they don't know what's really going on. All they have is a crime scene. (Not to mention the crime scene was already compromised when Jamie was moved back here.) Everything is too complicated and nothing anyone could have done would've made everyone feel better.
I think I'm too new to really offer anything constructive except maybe this: I don't know much about the law but I know enough about crime to say that it's never fair. However, I also know is things have a way of working themselves out and karma is a bitch to those who've wronged others. And if Jean hasn't gone around killing people before, this sure wouldn't be the best time to start. It's messy business. No need to get into it if you don't need to.
Anyway, that's just my two cents. I'm sorry for your loss and if you guys need help fortifying anything, let me know.
